Midst of it all

fantastic overtures vertically arranged
I think of her, now gone, and her questions--
why does the piano have dust on the keys
and her floors buckle with the wind?
We probably know, even though she would not agree,
one abandoned old house does not take away its stories

It was only one month ago...

....and all was just the way it is in the afternoon and then it all changes, an airborne menace we all knew was coming one day, but when the day comes, we say we could not know.  Like love, death is final but somehow continues to live on, in memories, in pain, in concrete objects and inanimate places.  May we be blessed always with all these opposites, all this heaven and hell, with the falling and rising again.
